Support the program with clear expectations.

Adopt-A-Dumpster™ is a program of Secure Structure Alliance Inc., a 501(c)(3) nonprofit (EIN 33-2988052). Contributions may be tax-deductible to the extent allowed by law.
Community gifts
Community gifts support the charitable program, including education, outreach, inspections, risk assessment, coordination, administration, site participation, permitted repairs or enclosure improvements, documentation and other program costs consistent with Secure Structure Alliance Inc.’s charitable purposes. A general donation is not automatically assigned to a particular dumpster or city.
How general donations are prioritized
For funds that are not accepted under a specific written project designation, Adopt-A-Dumpster may prioritize eligible projects using documented enclosure condition, credible signs of leakage or waste exposure, storm-drain and watershed pathways, potential community benefit, owner or municipal cooperation, required permissions, project feasibility and available funding. Being near a creek does not by itself mean that a dumpster is releasing pollutants or qualifies as a critical-risk site. Reported problems require verification before the program assigns a priority classification or communicates an environmental outcome.
Charitable funds may support early-stage inspections, outreach, education, project planning, actual improvement work, appropriate monitoring and reasonable program administration. Projects must also receive required authorization and governance review. The program does not guarantee that every donation will directly purchase a physical cover or that the highest-scoring reported location can be improved immediately.
Priority-area mapping and public reporting
The priority-area explanation and public map describe how serious environmental needs will be identified by area as the inspection and verification process matures. Published map categories are still being developed and are not a list of currently certified high-risk sites. Unconsenting properties remain private, and public updates will distinguish reported concerns, verified priority decisions, funded work and completed documented improvements. No risk rating is a government enforcement or compliance determination.
Whole-site sponsorships
Business and organization sponsorships may be used to support participating site improvements, sponsor recognition, documentation and related program delivery. Large sponsorships may be handled by invoice rather than a general donation form.
Designated gifts
If the program allows a donor to express a preference for a zone, site type or project, the preference will be considered within the charitable program. A gift does not guarantee that a particular physical project will be completed unless the program confirms that commitment in writing.
Sponsor acknowledgment
Sponsor acknowledgment may include the sponsor’s name, logo, locations, telephone number, website and a value-neutral description of products or services. It is intended to identify support, not promote or endorse the sponsor. Sponsorship fees are fixed by agreement and are not contingent on clicks, traffic, impressions, attendance or other measures of public exposure. Recognition does not imply city endorsement, regulatory approval or a product recommendation.
Receipts
Online contributions are processed through Stripe for Secure Structure Alliance Inc. Donors receive payment confirmation and may request a donation acknowledgment showing the legal charitable organization and relevant contribution information. Donors should consult their own tax adviser regarding deductibility.
Donation errors and refund requests
If you believe a donation was submitted or charged in error, contact info@securestructure.org with the date, amount and any receipt or transaction reference. Please do not email payment card numbers or other sensitive payment information. Secure Structure Alliance Inc. reviews refund requests individually under applicable law and payment-processing requirements. A refund is not guaranteed.
Canceling a monthly donation stops future recurring charges once the cancellation is processed; it does not automatically reverse a donation already completed. To request cancellation or an update, use the contact process below.
Recurring donations
Monthly donations continue automatically until canceled. To cancel or update a recurring contribution, contact info@securestructure.org. The team will review the request and make the appropriate change in Stripe.
Payment questions
If you believe a payment was made in error or you have a question about a contribution, contact info@securestructure.org promptly so the program can review the transaction.
