Veteran Founded. Community Built.
Adopt-A-Dumpster™ is a community clean-water program built around one practical idea: keep rain out of trash areas, make improvement visible and give local sponsors a way to help fund the fix.

A program of Secure Structure Alliance Inc., a 501(c)(3) nonprofit.
A common stormwater problem needed a practical field solution.
Commercial dumpster areas are easy to overlook. When rain reaches open trash and dirty enclosure surfaces, runoff can move from the site to the storm drain and downstream waterways.
The program grew from field construction experience, stormwater inspections and a simple question: what if the public could understand the problem, property owners could join without being shamed and sponsors could help fund visible improvements?
Built from service and field experience.
Ron Wallis founded Adopt-A-Dumpster™ after decades in construction and field problem-solving. He is a U.S. Navy veteran and has held a residential contractor license since 1999.
The program is intentionally practical: identify the site, protect privacy, invite participation, improve the enclosure and document what changed.
One public program. Specialized organizations behind it.
Secure Structure Alliance
The nonprofit organization that runs Adopt-A-Dumpster™ and receives charitable contributions.
StormwaterIQ™
The mapping, inspection and documentation technology layer behind site records and reporting.
Secure Dumpster
The physical roof, gate and enclosure solution used when a participating site needs a retrofit.
Steel Building USA
The steel fabrication and construction capability supporting physical delivery as the program develops.
A real pilot in development, not a made-up national success story.
Adopt-A-Dumpster™ is in pre-launch pilot development. Sponsored retrofits have not yet been installed, so public impact reporting begins with verified field work and documented product readiness.
What is real today: StormwaterIQ™ field inspections have been completed, an engineered Secure Dumpster structural plan is available, the public mapping model is being built and the sponsorship system is being prepared for launch.
29 commercial dumpster enclosures inspected.
In an initial StormwaterIQ™ field study, all 29 inspected enclosures scored Severe Non-Compliant under the program’s internal risk scoring. Individual properties are not identified publicly.
This is a program risk score, not a municipal compliance determination.
One dumpster at a time is enough to start.
